USB Apache: localhost, LAN and Internet access

Choose Localhost for access on your own computer, LAN for devices on the same network, or WAN when you intend to accept Internet connections. The Network section shows the relevant connection URLs.

  1. For LAN, select LAN mode, save and restart Apache. Use the computer LAN address and configured port on another device connected to the same network.
  2. Allow the configured port through Windows Firewall for the intended network.
  3. For WAN, configure router port forwarding to the server computer and confirm you have a reachable public IPv4 address.
  4. Test the public address from another Internet connection, such as mobile data. A displayed candidate WAN URL alone does not prove reachability.

CGNAT and shared hosting

CGNAT or ISP filtering can prevent incoming connections even when Apache works locally. This app does not change your router or firewall automatically. A development server is not a substitute for configuring a production hosting environment.
