Yes. Keep the gateway running with internet access and Accessibility enabled. Your phone sends the messages.

I took over a number that someone used before. What happens?

Request the number and approve it on the phone. Its history moves to your account and you decide to keep or reset it. The previous account loses access.

On the Android phone that has your WhatsApp number, download the app from Chatlane and install it.
Open Phone settings in the app: choose WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business and turn on Accessibility for Chatlane.

In the app, verify your sender number so the phone registers with fred.my.
On the website open My numbers, type the number with country code (e.g. 60123456789) in Add a sender number and tap Request number.

Chatlane: add or import contacts and labels

Open Contacts.
Add one contact with name, phone (with country code), birthday, labels and Permission to receive messages.
To add many, tap Download template, fill in the CSV columns name, phone, birthday, label, consent, then Import CSV.
Group contacts with Labels (e.g. VIP, Johor). One contact can have several labels.

Chatlane: send a WhatsApp campaign

Open Campaigns › New campaign.
Choose the Sender number and the Audience (one or more labels, or everyone who opted in).
Write the message. Personalise with {name}, {phone} and {unsubscribe}. Add an image, video, audio or document if you like.
Set the schedule (time follows your profile time zone) and the Interval between messages — at least 60 seconds keeps your number safer.
Save. Watch progress in Reports & statistics; pause, resume or cancel any time.

Each sender has a daily limit (Free is lower; Pro and fred.my Unlimited are much higher).

Chatlane API: send WhatsApp messages from your system

Make sure the sender number is Pro (or you have fred.my Unlimited).
Open API documentation › Create API key, give it a name (e.g. My online store) and copy the key.
From your server, POST JSON to the endpoint shown on the page with header Authorization: Bearer <key>: sender_phone, recipient_phone, message_text (and task_type + media_url for media).
Use the optional Idempotency-Key header to avoid duplicates when retrying.
Check the delivery with the status endpoint or in Reports.

Chatlane: automatic birthday wishes (Pro)

Add birthdays to your contacts (in Contacts or via CSV).
Open Birthday wishes › new rule, choose a Pro sender, the time of day and your message (e.g. Happy birthday, {name}!). You can attach a card image or PDF.
Save. Every opted-in contact gets a wish once a year at the chosen time in your time zone.

The sender needs an active Pro plan (or fred.my Unlimited) when the wish is sent.

Chatlane Pro: upgrade a number (MYR or USD)

Accepted Answer

Open My numbers and tap the number.
Under Upgrade to Pro choose the currency (MYR or USD), the quantity (each = one Pro period) and the payment method.
Tap Pay now. Pro activates after the payment provider confirms it and stays with the number.

Pro gives a higher daily limit, the API, birthday wishes, welcome messages and unlimited numbers.
Payments are one-off — Pro never renews automatically. Buy more days any time; they add to the remaining time.
With fred.my Unlimited every number you own is Pro automatically.

Chatlane messages not sending? Checklist

Accepted Answer

Phone online? The Android phone must be on, connected to the internet and the Chatlane app running.
Accessibility on? Open the app › Phone settings and make sure Accessibility is still enabled (some phones turn it off after updates).
Battery optimisation off? Allow Chatlane to run in the background.
Number ready? In My numbers the status must be Ready. If it says approve again, approve the request on the phone.
Daily limit reached? The error DAILY_LIMIT means wait until tomorrow or upgrade to Pro.
Over the Free number limit? Upgrade a number to Pro or remove another Free number.
